This course has been designed for those who hold positions as specialist visual merchandisers in the retail industry or those wishing to begin a career in the visual merchandising sector. The role of the Visual Merchandiser may involve working as a member of a national, state or store-based team: designing and installing visual merchandising displays in the exhibition industry; and/or self employment as a visual merchandiser.

Upon completion of this course, students will have an understanding of the Visual Merchandising industry including: the principles and elements of display, the development and design of language for the purpose of product presentation, the design and construction of props, and working to an industry brief.

Applicants with prior tertiary studies that satisfy part of the academic requirements of this course may be granted 'credit' and/or entry to the course with 'advanced standing'. University policies apply and applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
